Welcome to Central Unified School District!

We are excited to have you join our team!
Lets walk you through setting up your new device. 

Step 1: 

• Open device & turn on 

Step 2: 

• Connect to a local network

  • In the top right corner you will see the Wifi icon, click on it to select a local network like CUSD Public or CUSD Guest 

    • You will sign into CUSD Staff wifi once your account is created
      

     

Step 3: 

• Use your district provided email address with username@centralunified.org

• Enter your email password to continue
  

  
  

Step 4: 

• You will then need to create a local account password 

  • We recommend using your email password for this. 
    

• Select any needed Accessibility features or Select Not Now

• Add your fingerprint for Touch ID or Select Set up Touch ID Later

  • To set up Touch ID - Rest and Lift your index finger on power button (do not press the button while setting up Touch ID) 

Step 5: 

• Your local account is now created - You will be taken to the desktop 

• An application will open and start automatically setting up your desktop with Chrome, Google Drive Apps, Microsoft Apps, and Adobe Acrobat Pro

• Once the application has finished setting up your desktop your device will automatically restart. 

• Once your device has restarted you can sign-in to finish setting it up

Signing into Staff Wifi:

• Step 1: Find & click the wifi icon (top right corner next to the battery icon) 
• Step 2: Click on CUSD Staff
• Step 3: Enter your email username & email password > then select Ok
  • Do not enter @centralusd.k12.ca.us / @centralunified.org for this portion
• Step 4: Verify Certificate > Select Continue 
• Step 5: Use Touch ID or Enter your password to save changes

Signing into your apps:

• Chrome:

  • Find Chrome in the dock bar & click on it

  • The app will then open
  • The "Welcome to Chrome" Dialog box will appear > Select Start Google Chrome
  • Once Chrome open > Select  Already a Chrome user? Sign in
  • Sign in using your username@centralusd.k12.ca.us
  • Enter your email password
  • Your Organization will mange this profile > Select Continue 
    • This is just letting you know that the account is managed by Central Unified School District 
  • Turn on Sync > Select Yes, I'm In
    • Turning on Sync will ensure that any Bookmarks or profile changes you make stay with your Google account
  • Your Google Chrome account is now setup

• Google Drive:

  • Go to Finder > Click Applications > Find & Select Google Drive
  • Once Google Drive opens click Sign in with Browser 
  • Google Chrome will open & ask if you want to Allow Google Drive access > Select Allow
  • Select your Central USD Email account and Connect to Google Drive for Desktop
  •  Once you have signed in, the app will connect to Google Drive 
  •  Find the app in your status bar and click it
  • A window will open > click on the Gear icon > then select Preferences 
  • The preferences window will open > Select Add Folders 

  • Make sure the grey bar is highlighting your Documents folder & select Open

  • Repeat the same process for adding your Desktop folder

  • Once the folders are added select Save 

• Microsoft Word:

  • Find and Open Microsoft Word

  • Enter your email: username@centralunified.org > Click Next
  • Enter your email password > Select Sign In 
  • The next window will ask if you want to Stay signed in? 
    • You may check and box Don't show this message again > Then select Yes

• Adobe Acrobat Pro:

  • Find and Open Adobe Acrobat Pro

  • Enter your email: username@centralunified.org > Click Continue
  • Enter your email password > Select Sign In 
  • The next window will ask if you want to Stay signed in? 
    • You may check and box Don't show this message again > Then select Yes

You're new device Set-up is now COMPLETE!

You have now successfully set-up your new device.
