To erase all content and settings on the iPad: 

Step 1: Go to Settings 

Step 2: If you are signed into an Apple ID account - select your name, scroll to the bottom of the right side menu options, and select Sign out (you will need to enter your Apple ID password)

Step 3: Go to General 

Step 4: Scroll to the bottom & select Transfer or Reset iPad

Step 5: Select Erase All Content & Settings 

Step 6: Select Continue

Step 7: Select Erase iPad

Step 8: Enter the passcode that is used to unlock the device 

Step 9: The device will then begin erasing all content, it will then reboot to the "Welcome" screen; once there you can shut the device down.
